BarryS Coaching Moab Triathlon Training Camp

BarryS Coaching Moab Triathlon Training Camp is to be held in conjunction with the Moab Skinny Tire Festival, in Moab, Utah.

Cyclists know about Moab; they know it as the home of the Slickrock Trail, the Mecca of mountain bikers. What many don't realize is Moab has some of the best road biking in the world. There are hundreds of miles of paved roads in and out of the world-class scenery that is known by every adventure seeker globally.

The four rides of the Festival highlight Moab's different riding opportunities. Two days follow the mighty Colorado River corridor, both up-stream and downstream. The other two days leave the valley and climb the beautiful canyon roads into redrock country visiting Dead Horse Point State Park and Arches National Park.

Tuesday, March 13, 2018 - Skinny Tire Fest Day 4

  • A 37 mile, flat ride. Last day of the Skinny Tire Festival.
  • This is a good day for a longer T-2 run by those wishing to do so.

Barrys Day 4 GARMIN.CONNECT ride profile

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

  • For those wishing to stay and ride one more day (and weather in the LaSalle Mountains cooperating) , I am giving consideration to organizing a LaSalle Mountain Loop 100 mile ride. This will require some additional coordination and hiring a sag driver and vehicle as there are no stores along the ride to stop for refueling. This ride will climb from about 4500 feet up to nearly 11,000 feet then loop back down to the Colorado River corridor and into Moab. This will be a challenging and rewarding day; assuming the snow has been cleared and we can over the LaSalle Mountain Pass.

2016 will be my third consecutive year attending the Moab Skinny Tire Festival with Coach Barry. My experience has gotten better every year, as not only have I improved my cycling efficiency, I also have the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful landscape in the world.

This event is extremely well supported and organized. Under the leadership and coordination of Coach Barry, this training camp is a kickstart to my triathlon season. Coach Barry has each day planned with workouts and fun and exciting activities around Moab. I promise you will come back from the MSTF a better cyclist and a better athlete all around!
